Curriculum: Music provision at OHS:
- Over 200 individual music lessons taught each week (piano, violin, cello, flute, recorder, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, guitar, drums and voice).
- Comprehensive curriculum with practical class music skills (percussions, recorders, ukuleles, music tech, composition) in addition to singing and music appreciation.
- Wider Opportunities scheme for Form 3 pupils (FREE loan of instruments and weekly class tuition of woodwinds, strings and brass instruments, on a termly rotation).
- In house ABRSM exam sessions at the end of each term.
- Over 12 musical ensembles (flutes, recorders, woodwinds, brass, guitars, A capella singing, strings), clubs (music theory, musicianship, Mtech) and school Orchestra.
- Four choirs (Juniors, Seniors, Chamber choir and Parents/Teachers choir).
- Termly concerts for ensembles and individual performers + weekly features in assemblies.
- Musician of the Year competition in the Summer term (Petter Cup).
- Form 6 production with live band in the Summer term at the POSK theatre.
- Entries to the Richmond Music Festival and the Ealing Music Festival.
- Performance at the Bedford Park Festival
